Starting School

Starting Year R in September 2019? 

 

Wednesday 12th June, 7.00pm – 8.00pm

We will be holding an information evening for parents in the school hall where we will be giving you some information about our school and specific details about Red class routines and requirements.  There will also be representatives from our Governors, PTA and Tree Tops early morning/after school club in attendance and there will be the opportunity to view and order school uniform.

 

Taster Session – Tuesday 11th June

Group A 9.30-10.30 / Group B 11.00am-12.00pm

Your child will be invited to spend some time in their new classroom where we will their new teachers.  Your child may bring in a favourite toy for a ‘show and tell’ session if they wish.  Sarah de Marcos our Parent Support advisor will leading a ‘ready for school session’ for parents in our community room. 

 

Taster Session – Friday 5th July

Group A 9.30am-10.30am / Group B 11.00am-12.00pm

A further opportunity for your child to spend time with their new class and teachers.  Please can children bring in a family photograph for our welcome display in September.  During this time, parents are invited to join a few members of our friendly PTA for coffee and biscuits in our Community Room. 

 

Nursery Visits

The Early Years Team will be visiting your child in their current nursery setting.  The nurseries will be contacted by us to arrange a time/date before they start at Grayshott in September. 

 

Home Visits

If your child is not in a nursery setting, the Early Years Team will visit your child at home.  We will contact you to arrange a convenient date/time.

 

Alternatively, if you feel that your child would benefit from both a nursery and home visit please let us know.

 

Teddy Bears Picnic – 22nd July 12.00pm-1.00pm – Grayshott Recreation Ground

Parents and children are invited for a picnic with the Early Years Team and the current Reception class with their parents.  This will be a lovely opportunity to meet some of our current parents.  Please remember to bring your own picnic and no nuts please.
