Church of England

We are proud to be a Church of England (voluntary controlled) school and part of the Diocese of Guildford. We are not a faith school - we accept children of all faiths or none - but have a distinctively Christian ethos, which underpins everything we do.

We have close links to our local church, St Luke's. Children visit the church as part of their RE work and the 'Open the Book' assembly team come into school every week to share bible stories with the children during collective worship. At Harvest, Christmas, Easter and the end of the school year the whole school visits the church to share these special times with the community. We also visit the church for collective worship each half term.

We teach the Hampshire Agreed Syllabus for RE as we believe that it is important for children to develop knowledge and understanding of, and respect for, different religions.

Parents who wish to withdraw their child from collective worship or RE should make an appointment to discuss this with the headteacher.

Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS)

We are proud to be rated 'Good' in our most recent SIAMS in 2016. The principal objective of SIAMS inspection is to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of the school as a Church school, and how well the distinctive Christian character and ethos of the school ensure the development and achievement of the whole child. Please click on the link below to read our full report.
