On Tuesday this week we joined over a thousand schools, colleges and youth groups to celebrate all that is fabulous about the internet and just how we can use it responsibly and safely. This year the theme was #Freetobeme; the children talked about their online identity and the benefits and disadvantages of having the freedom to be whoever they want to be online. The message about not sharing personal information on any online platform was driven home via a multitude of fun learning activities. Children also reminded themselves of the steps to take if they see something online that makes them feel uncomfortable or sad. As well as blocking and reporting users, children are taught to tell a trusted adult.
