On Thursday this week Purple Class had an important visitor. The children are studying ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ and are going to be writing information texts, so what better way to champion the plight of the poultry in this famous novel than to bring in a real live hen. Herbie (not one of Farmer Boggis' flock, but Mrs Roberts' pet) spent the day in the classroom and as well as producing quite a lot of manure in her time here she even laid an egg in front of the whole class!

Red class had the opportunity to meet and stroke Herbie in the afternoon too. Well done Purple Class for being so quiet, curious and also tolerant of her more smelly creations!
