During the trip, the children learnt more about nocturnal creatures and even got to stroke a cuddly chinchilla and a slithery snake. The children had a brilliant day and the staff at Bird World were very impressed with their knowledge of animals. The children behaved brilliantly and were a credit to the school!

Congratulations to Gold class for an amazing set of results. The percentage of children achieving the expected standard in all three subjects (reading, writing and maths) is 78%, which is higher than last year (72%) and significantly higher than the national average (65%). We have been focusing on improving the teaching of writing across the school this year and are particularly delighted that 88% achieved the expected standard in writing (national 78%), with an impressive 28% exceeding this compared with 17% last year (16% nationally in 2018). Individual results will be shared with children and parents later this week.

Red Class had a fantastic trip to Marwell Zoo. They saw many animals including giraffes, hippos, sloth, cheetah, red pandas and tigers! They also had a lovely time in the play area after their picnic by the snow leopards! Their behaviour was fantastic and Mrs Tickner would like to thank all of the parent helpers for giving up their time for help on the day.
