  • Congratulations to Mrs Roebuck!

    Fri 30 Jun 2023

Massive congratulations to our own Mrs Roebuck on being one of the winners at this year’s Hampshire Education Awards. Mrs Roebuck won the Teaching Support Award for all the fantastic work she does with our children here at Grayshott CE.

These awards have been established as a means of recognising and celebrating the contribution of staff and volunteers within Hampshire’s education system. The intention is to say thank you all those involved in Hampshire’s schools and colleges through honouring nominees who make a real difference to the life opportunities of children and young people and, where appropriate, their families or communities.

  • Nature Club go on a Field Trip

    Fri 16 Jun 2023

Our after-school Nature club headed out on a field trip this week. They didn’t have to travel far; just over the school field fence to meet Harry Broom, a neighbour to the school and also past pupil as well as grandad and dad to past pupils! Harry and his wife feed the flock of about 30 village doves three times a day in their garden so the children luckily witnessed one of these feeding visits. No-one knows where the flock go the rest of the time or where they roost at night! The children also met Harry’s two pet tortoises, one of which was found outside the Co-op about 20 years ago as a tiny baby tortoise- possibly having dropped out of an imported fruit delivery!  It was great fun and the children learnt lots. Thank you very much Harry.

  • Trip for Yellow and Blue Classes

    Fri 09 Jun 2023

A group of Beavers from Yellow, Blue and Purple Classes had a special trip out today. Their leaders took them on a journey to local writer and conservationist, Sandi Toksvig’s woodland. Sandi is making a documentary with Channel 4 about her work preserving and developing Grayshott’s ancient woodland and the children got to be part of it, learning about the forest and doing some pond dipping. It was a really fun morning for the children and they learned loads. Thank you to Sandi for hosting us and to Carol from Beavers for organising.
