  • Easter Service at St Luke's

    Thu 28 Mar 2024

It was lovely to see so many people at St. Luke’s yesterday for our Easter service. It was a really great atmosphere and it was wonderful to see some fresh ideas in terms of what the children were doing. There were marches and songs and lovely readings and it gave me a very positive feeling leading into the holidays. Thank you to Mrs Tennant and the staff for organising it. Happy Easter everyone!

  • Thank you Grayshott Cricket Club!

    Fri 22 Mar 2024

Thank you so much to the coaches of Grayshott Cricket Club, who gave up their time today to deliver introductory sessions to our children in Red, Yellow and Blue Classes. A little rain didn’t stop play and the children really enjoyed learning how to bat and bowl.

  • The Appliance of Science

    Fri 15 Mar 2024

Monday morning was a great opportunity for our children to carry out science experiments all over the school. They split into their house groups and did a ‘carousel’ of investigations with different teachers. Turmeric was everywhere and they made hoop gliders and all sorts. There was lots of excited chatter as they all went from place to place and it was so lovely to see our children from Gold and Silver Classes taking care of the younger ones and helping them find their way. Great team work! Thank you to Mrs Ashton-Smith for organising this opportunity for us.

  • World Book Day

    Fri 08 Mar 2024

It was wonderful to cut through all the glitz and costumery that is usually associated with World Book Day and focus on what the day is really about – Reading! The children got comfy in their pyjamas and onesies and read and talked about their favourite books. The school council gave a presentation in a special assembly about what they get out of reading and about some of their recommendations to different year groups. There was a ‘Masked Reader’ competition where children were amazed to find out just how convincing Mr Clarke’s Scottish accent is. The Book café idea worked really well and raised £310 towards new books for classrooms. We are planning a new event for September called ‘Bedtime Stories’ and you’ll hear more about that later on. Thank you for your support with this.

  • Trips to Mecca

    Fri 01 Mar 2024

Muskaan spoke very eloquently and enthusiastically to Silver Class to describe and explain everything that she experienced following her family's trip to Mecca over the half term break. She described in detail what needed to be done in order to complete Umra and how it made her feel. She brought back gifts of water from the Zamzam well and dates for the children to try as they heard about and saw images of what it was like. Thank you Muskaan for sharing this incredible experience with us. Her sister Inaya did the same for Blue Class and Waqas shared a presentation with Green Class, what an excellent idea. We really all get so much out of times like these, when our students want to share their stories and life events with us. Travelling to Mecca is a massive part of the life of any Muslim and we’re so glad our children had the chance to do this.
