  • Silver Class Residential Visit to Stubbington

    Mon 17 Jun 2019
Silver Class had a superb week at Stubbington last week. Despite the weather being a little indifferent at times, the children enjoyed taking part in activities such as orienteering, setting up mammal hotels and completing the infamous ‘Earthquake’ course. Seeing several badgers during their evening visit to the hide was certainly a highlight too! The children were brilliantly behaved and managed to go sleep when they were asked to….most of the time!  There are lots of pictures on the class pages of our website.
  • Family Football!

    Sat 15 Jun 2019

Thank you to everyone who attended our Family Football event which raised an amazing £3,000 for our school.  Congratulations to the Silver Strikers who won the tournament and the Yellow Yaks who came a close second. It was a great night and thank you to everyone involved, especially Mrs Roberts and Gold class for all their fabulous stalls.

We welcomed our new Year R children and parents into our school community this week. On Tuesday, parents met with our Parent Support Advisor, Sarah de Marcos, while the children got to explore their new classroom. The children all left their taster session with big smiles! The new parents' presentation from 12th June is available on the 'Starting School' page on the Parents section of the website.
  • The Vikings visit Green Class!

    Fri 07 Jun 2019

Green Class enjoyed experiencing a day in the life of a Viking with their Viking visitor this week. They enjoyed participating in a number of Viking games – some of which helped prepare them to row across the sea!  The children also took part in a stamina challenge where they had to stand on tiptoes with their arms high in the air – the winner was the one who lasted the longest.  They learnt about the foods Vikings used to eat, looked at and tried on Viking clothing (including armour) and learnt about the Viking laws.  Miss Penrose was delighted with how the day went and was impressed with Green class’s fantastic knowledge and enthusiasm throughout the entire day.  We would also like to thank Mrs Wright for help and support.

  • Financial Education Workshop

    Tue 04 Jun 2019
Gold class learnt how to manage their money and make it grow! They began the workshop with a virtual £500 and were tasked with seeing who could grow their money the most by the end of the morning by playing a variety of games, devising strategy and calculating risk. They recorded their expenditure and income on their bank balance sheets. The children learnt about risk and reward; investing and banking; interest and saving as well as budgeting and lending. It was fantastic to see the children so engaged in the maths of the exercise and making advised decisions in order to succeed.  A huge thank you to St James' Place and Surrey Wealth Management for this outstanding opportunity.
