  • Letters from Blue Class

    Fri 26 Jan 2024

Blue Class have written some fantastic letters out to people around the world to take action about water pollution. This ‘courageous advocacy’ shows a real community spirit and a desire to take action. We’re very proud of Blue Class for the time and energy they have put into writing these letters and we look forward to seeing the response.

  • Message from I'm All Ears

    Thu 25 Jan 2024

I’m all ears is a small but growing Community Interest Company providing listening and counselling services in the Surrey/East Hants/Sussex tri county our office is based in Grayshott. I’m all ears provides low cost /free of charge counselling to clients of all ages by a variety of means in person, online and telephone. We passionately believe that being able to provide mental health support locally and quickly when needed is vital to securing the best possible outcomes for our clients and we know we are making a big difference in our local community- having provided over 1650 hours of counselling in the last 12 months.

I’m all ears is run by volunteer qualified counsellors. To keep our costs low and be able to help as many people as possible we work closely with final year trainee counsellors under supervision. They get the clinic hours they need to complete their training while providing much needed support to local people. In addition to the trainees, we also work with a network of qualified associate counsellors who provide us with a number of hours at a reduced rate for those clients that have needs that students are unable to counsel. All our funding comes from a few small funding grants and donations, so we would like to say a big THANK YOU to you all at Grayshott School for your kind donations over the Christmas period.

The money that you donated over Christmas, over £125, was enough to fund five counselling sessions for young people in our community who really need support.

  • Doodling in Maths!

    Fri 12 Jan 2024

We have recently invested in Doodle Maths, an online platform where children can carry on their maths learning at home. Blue Class have their logins and are up and running and have been Doodling away at home over the Christmas break and into the new year. We will be rolling this out to Yellow Class this term as well, giving children more chances to work on the basics of mathematics in a really user-friendly interface.

Congratulations to Dexter, Ava and Vaughan in Blue Class for being our top Doodlers in the past few weeks, earning 300 stars each!

  • History of the World

    Fri 05 Jan 2024

Silver Class were getting to grips with the History of the World today, mapping it all out on the Hall floor. This gave them a better understanding of just how old the world really is, and how little time human beings have been here. If Earth's history were condensed into 24 hours, life would have appeared at 4.00am, land plants at 9.52pm, dinosaur extinction at 11.41pm, and human history would have begun at 11.58:43pm. Haven’t we done a lot in 1 minute and 17 seconds!

  • Message to Parents/Carers from our Governors

    Fri 01 Dec 2023

    Dear Parents/Carers

We are sure you would like to join us in congratulating Mr Austin, the school staff and pupils for the excellent SIAMS report.  From start to finish the report is full of praise for the school.  We are sure you will have all read the School Strengths but in the body of the text there are so many observations of the school that need capturing and celebrating. Here are a few that we particularly like:

    • The high quality of relationships across the school.
    • The aspirational curriculum lifts perspectives beyond the school.
    • Pupils and adults grow spiritually as they are helped to see beyond themselves to how humanity is connected.
    • The well-being of every pupil and adult is central to the school.

It is not easy to achieve this sort of report and as governors, we are delighted with all the work that has gone into achieving this amazing accolade.

  • Diwali Celebration

    Fri 24 Nov 2023

On Thursday morning Prayer Champions from Blue, Purple and Green classes lead collective worship. Martha and June from Purple Class interviewed their teacher Mrs Sangar about the Hindu celebration of Diwali. The hall was decorated with lights and Samuel and Yasmin laid a table with candles. The whole school heard about how families and wider communities around the world celebrate with lights of all kinds to welcome in positivity and light over negative thoughts and darkness. Thank you to Mrs Sangar who brought her beautiful sari in for everyone to see. The children were all fascinated!

  • Anti Bullying Week

    Fri 17 Nov 2023

We started the week with our odd socks day and it was lovely to hear children really understanding what that was all about – that it is brilliant to be different. The end of the week saw us have a ‘kindness day’. This was the idea of the school council, who wanted to reward children for their kindness with each other. Every child had 10 stickers that they could give out to anyone they saw doing something kind. They were even allowed to give out two to themselves if they were kind to themselves. It was great to see the children looking out for kind actions in their peers.

  • Visit from London Mozart Players

    Fri 17 Nov 2023

Jo and Sebastian form the London Mozart players visited us on Thursday to teach the children all about the world of music. They learned all about stringed instruments. Purple Class even worked together with them to create a piece of music to perform in a special concert at the end of the day.

  • Paralympic Medalist visits Grayshott!

    Fri 10 Nov 2023

Today, we were incredibly lucky to receive a visit from Paralympic Gold Medalist Kylie Grimes as part of the Sports for Schools Initiative. The children certainly played their part, all undertaking a series of exercises which they had been very generously sponsored for! Kylie spoke about her incredible career, sharing her inspirational story of how she came to represent team GB at 3 Olympic games across two sports. Thank you so much to all our families for sponsoring the children to undertake the exercise circuit.  The total raised is currently £2044.00 which is incredible and there is still another week for families to add to this if you haven’t already done so. A huge thank you to Kylie and to Paula from Sports for Schools for delivering a memorable event!
